Friday afternoon. The night suddenly fell upon Konoha, and everything became silent.
Sakura hurried to her house. She didn't want to be late if Kakashi accepted her invitation. As she was opening a bottle of wine, someone knocked at her door.
Her high heels clattering on the floor, she went to open the door.
Kakashi looked at her, the chilling wind blowing all the snow inside as he was stepping in.
She smiled.
He glanced back at her, silent, not even looking at her provoking dress.
They stared at each other for what seemed hours before Sakura spoke:
-This invitation was tempting, wasn't it? She asked with an insolent smile.
Her smile disappeared when she saw the cold glare of Kakashi.
-I don't want to do this, he said. I don't need this to work.
-Then do your work properly, and you won't get any more offers from me, she answered, smiling again.
-Fine.
He turned away, ready to leave, but Sakura called him.
-Kakashi!
-Yes? The Hokage answered, turning his head in her direction.
-Would you at least please stay for dinner? She asked.
-Why not, said Kakashi, finally smiling. But please…
He closed his eyes.
-Cover yourself.
-._
They ate and drank, talking about everything that came to their mind. As they were sitting in the living room, Kakashi looked at the clock.
-It's late, he said. I better be going.
Sakura watched him get up, but as he was walking to the door, she rose.
-Don't, she murmured.
Kakashi stopped walking and looked at her, giving her a questioning look.
-I… have a confession to make, she whispered.
Her face went red as she advanced toward her former sensei.
-You know… this invitation wasn't only a reward for you… But…
She stopped in front of him. She looked at him in the eyes.
-It was also… a reward…
Her hand rose and slithered on his chest, caressed his cheek. Sakura filled the space between their bodies, bringing her chest as close of his as she could.
-For me.
-._
-Do you regret? She asked.
The sun was beginning to rise. The golden glow softly shone through the window of her room.
-I don't know, Kakashi answered.
She tried to touch his cheek, but he swiftly escaped her embrace and sat on the edge of the bed.
-Then why did you give in? she said quietly.
-I don't know, he whispered.
He got up and began to dress up.
-Will you come back? She asked, her eyes shining with hope.
He put on his shirt and stayed silent.
Before leaving the room, he turned to her and said:
-I don't know.
